Peter grew up in London where he went to what he describes as a not very good school that was good for him. The good part included regular visits to student productions at RADA and LAMDA, to art exhibitions and talks, all of which made a big impact and created a strong interest in the arts.
He went on to Swansea University where he stayed for 6 years following an undergraduate course and then research in political philosophy. He was intrigued by trying to understand how other people thought about politics and, after deciding that an academic career was unsuited to someone who clearly had no ability to teach, translated this into trying to understand other peoples and joined the British Council.
Work in the British Council included 3 or more years in Mexico, Croatia / Slovenia, Iraq, Zimbabwe, Pakistan and Kenya. It also included periods in Human Relations at the London HQ with a special interest in diversity.
Peter retired in 2004 and since enjoys contributing to a number of charities, seeing family and friends, and spending time in Croatia.
