Sophie Lifschutz

Sophie trained with the National Theatre's Young Company. She read Drama and German at the University of Bristol and went on to study directing at Drama Studio London.

Sophie’s production of “Retreat” by James Saunders won a FringeReview award for Outstanding Theatre Show at the Edinburgh Festival 2007 and transferred to the New End Theatre.

Recent directing projects include “Numbers” (King’s Head Theatre), “My Best Friend” (Courtyard Theatre), “Deepcut: Scenes from an Inquiry” (Landor Theatre), "The Game" (Liberties Bar) and co-directing new musical “Pages”
(Pacific Playhouse). Assistant directing work includes “The Vagina Monologues” (Upstairs at the Gatehouse), “Wolves at the Window” (Arcola Theatre), “The Shadowmaster” (Kings Head Theatre), ”Die Söhne der großen Bärin” (Maxim Gorki Theater, Berlin). She produced the Theatre Café Europe Youth Encounter 2007/ Theatre Cafe Festival 2008 with Company of Angels (Unicorn Theatre/ Southwark Playhouse).
