Assistant Head of Movement 

Kieran is currently developing a range of pioneering projects for Opera North and has created the new Diploma in Applied Creative Movement at ALRA North. Kieran’s past credits include Revival Movement Director for Glyndebourne, a number of Arts Council England grants for his own performance work, Associate Artist at ice and fire, Dance Digital and an RSC placement.

 DUPLICATED ALRA SOUTH RESIDENT

Kate has been working at ALRA North since 2012. She also works across the north of England as a freelance Movement Director, Choreographer and teacher and runs a bodywork practice using Pilates and release-based techniques with physical performers. Originally trained in contemporary dance at the Laban Centre of Movement and Dance, Kate has worked at many organisations including Dundee Repertory Theatre, Opera North, Manchester Youth Theatre, Edge Hill University.

Ruth Cooper-Brown is a Fight Director and Teacher and co-founder of Rc-Annie Ltd (est 2005 with Rachel Bown-Williams), the Chair, an examiner & certified teacher for the BADC. Notable theatre credits are: King John (Royal and Derngate/Shakespeare's Globe), Way Up Stream (Chichester Festival Theatre), The Famous Victories of Henry V (RSC), Playing for Time & Blasted (Sheffield Crucible), Kill Johnny Glendenning (Royal Lyceum Theatre, Edinburgh), The James Plays (NTS/NT), MOJO (Sonia Friedman Productions), Red Velvet (Tricycle Theatre) and Dunsinane (NTS/RSC).

Michael trained at the Jacques Lecoqschool in Paris after completing a BA in Performance Theatre at York University. He is Artistic Director of Square Peg Theatre who focus on combining new writing with physical theatre to create bold, cinematic and highly choreographed stories for the stage.
