Foundation Studies Co-Ordinator (Part-Time)

Salary: £6k       Hours: 6 per week (In addition the successful candidate will be expected to teach approximately 8-10 hours per week under a separate teaching contract. It is expected that other duties will require additional attendance, which can then be offset against non-teaching weeks)

A dynamic and committed Foundation Studies Co-Ordinator is required to take up post from August 1st 2016. Leading the Full & Part time Foundation team this is a highly responsible role within the school ensuring our recruitment and progression are excellent. Reporting to the Heads of Acting, you will have the drive and commitment to help ensure the recruitment, auditions and deliveryfor Foundation Courses is of the highest quality and meets the requirements of our students.

You will have previous experience of working within a teaching and creative environment, have a relevant qualification and be IT literate. This role will involve you travelling between sites (Wandsworth and Wigan) to attend meetings and moderate delivery and therefore you must have the motivation for independent work.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Foundation Studies Co-Ordinator Reports to: Assistant Principal
Locations:London/Wigan Direct Reports: Foundation Course Leaders
Key Responsibilities
  • To play a key role in promoting the school and attracting new students – proactively building relationships with stakeholders including feeder schools and ensuring that the school recruits the best students and remains at full capacity.
  • To lead, manage and execute an efficient, warm and welcoming Foundation admissions service, ensuring a professional service for students, staff, feeder schools & Colleges and the wider public.
  • To lead on course design & delivery ensuring both staff, resources and curriculum are fit for purpose and to approve and appoint teaching staff as required.
  • To coordinate arrangements for auditions, ensuring students have a positive impression of the school throughout the process.
  • To assist the Registrar with the process of making offers, maintaining records of responses and to initiate appropriate follow up responses.
  • To oversee the relevant documentation sent to new pupils and to prepare induction materials as required.
  • To fill spare places in the school, operating efficient waiting lists and taking responsibility for ensuring ALRA Foundation courses have maximum permitted numbers of students on role at all times.
  • To attend Curriculum, Academic Board & other meetings as required.
 Other
  • To represent the school at a range of external events to help build relationships. These may be during the evening/ at weekends.
  • Occasional travel between sites.
  • Other duties as may reasonably be required from time to time.
