Foundation Studies Coordinator South

Salary: £28K-30K       Hours: 0.5 currently with 12hrs weekly teaching 

Permanent – London (Wandsworth) (Some travel between London and Wigan sites will be required) 

ALRA is looking for an enthusiastic and highly skilled teacher to oversee the full time foundation course and oversee our new part time Musical Theatre foundation course in London.

You will be highly skilled in one of the 3 disciplines: acting, both text and improvisation, actors movement or voice. This is a .5 post for the current academic year with an expectation that recruitment will mean this post may be full time from September 2018.

Job Title: Foundation Studies Coordinator South Reports to: Head of Foundation Studies HoFS
Key Responsibilities Full Time Acting & PT MT
  • To play a key role in promoting the school and attracting new students – proactively building relationships with stakeholders including feeder schools and ensuring that the school recruits the best students and remains at full capacity.
  • To assist the HoFS to execute an efficient, warm and welcoming Foundation admissions service, ensuring a professional service for students, staff, feeder schools & Colleges and the wider public.
  • To assist the HoFS in course design & delivery ensuring both staff, resources and curriculum are fit for purpose and to approve and appoint teaching staff as required.
  • To help coordinate arrangements for auditions, ensuring students have a positive impression of the school throughout the process.
  • To assist the Registrar with the process of making offers, maintaining records of responses and to initiate appropriate follow up responses.
  • To oversee the relevant documentation sent to new pupils and to prepare induction materials as required.
  • To fill spare places in the school, operating efficient waiting lists and taking responsibility for ensuring ALRA Foundation courses have maximum permitted numbers of students on role at all times.
  • To attend Curriculum, Academic Board & other meetings as required.
  • To represent the school at a range of external events to help build relationships. These may be during the evening/at weekends.
  • Occasional travel between sites.
  • Other duties as may reasonably be required from time to time.
