ALRA are recruiting for two Lead Movement Tutors taking on the delivery and management of the movement department at our North and South sites.

Forming an essential part of our curriculum team the LMT will work closely with colleagues to contribute to the smooth running and continued excellence of the ALRA training. Joining the school at an exciting time in the development of the BA and MA courses the right candidate will need to arrive with a confident, positive and knowledgeable approach to their work.

We are interested in meeting new movement practitioners’, particularly those with experience in the disciplines of Voice and Acting. Our approach to actor training is unique in the level of integration between disciplines and therefore we are open to candidates who ascribe to this vision.

Workshop interviews will take place in London on Wednesday 19th October and Wigan on Friday 21st October. We are looking for candidates to phase into teaching during mid-November, but have flexibility around this.

The contract delivery is flexible and open to negotiation and will be based on £28-35,000 fte. dependent on experience.

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Job Title: Lead Movement Tutor North or South Reports to: Head of Acting
Locations: Wigan or London Direct Reports: Movement Tutors North or South
Department: Curriculum
Key Responsibilities
  • To co-ordinate all actor movement teaching on MA and BA Acting programmes according to the published syllabus.
  • In pursuance of which recruit all teaching teams for actor movement activity at ALRA North.
  • To deliver and co-ordinate, within agreed budgets, all movement direction for level 4,5,6,and PGstudents in the North campus.
  • To liaise with Rehearsal Project Directors negotiating Movement Direction/Support appropriately to the needs of the text.
  • To facilitate and mark all Movement Module assessments at level 4,5,6 and 7 in the North Campus.
  • To facilitate and deliver all written feedback for Movement Modules.
  • To facilitate feedback on level 4,5 and PG Building Performance assessments.
  • To co-ordinate and deliver all Observations of Movement Staff in the North Campus.
  • To participate in the school's Appraisal Scheme.
  • To actively promote the equality of opportunity for all staff and students at all times.
  • To undertake any other such duties and responsibilities which may reasonably be asked.
  • Represents the school at functions and events where appropriate.
  • To comply with the school's published policies.
  • To be part of audition panel.
  • Other duties as may reasonably be required from time to time.
