Straight after graduating from ALRA North in 2015, Bronwyn James made her professional debut appearing in Hangmen at Wyndam’s Theatre in London after a run at the Royal Court in 2015. The play featured other critically acclaimed actors such as Reece Shearsmith, Simon Rouse, John Hodgkinson and Sally Rogers, and won two out of three nominations in 2016’s Olivier Awards: Best New Play and Best Set Design.
In 2017, Bronwyn starred in US/British co-production TV show Harlots inspired by Harris’s List Of Covent Garden Ladies. Created by Alison Newman & Moira Buffini, it debutted on ITV then moved to US streaming platform Hulu.
In 2018, she played Mavis Hollier in BBC's Call The Midwife and Megan Barnard in BBC's The ABC Murders. In 2019, she played Muriel Yeardsley in ITV's Wild Bill.
