Comedy fundraiser for Barnardos at ALRA

Sarah Double Barnardos editedSarah Double, ALRA’s Assistant Principal, is running the London Marathon 2017 in aid of Barnardo’s - the children’s charity that helps transform the lives of over 200,000 children and young people each year. We've organised an entertaining way to support her and raise funds for this amazing cause; a comedy double bill show at ALRA South featuring Maddy Anholt and Bianca Mulligan.

On Thursday, 19th January at 7.30pm, ALRA presents:

Maddy Anholt: Work-in-Progress

Following the success of her highly acclaimed comedy, ‘Rent Girl’, co-written by Hardeep Singh Kohli and 'Diary of a Dating Addict' at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and Soho Theatre, character comedienne Maddy Anholt is back with a brand new show for 2017.

Maddy delves into a surreal and hilarious world of characters with “effortless transformations…” (The British Comedy Guide). As seen on BBC One’s Sunny D, a pilot with Warner Bros and a new Radio 4 pilot in development, Maddy Anholt is one to watch.

The Crazy Cat Lady Next Door by Bianca Mulligan

Bianca Mulligan just graduated in December 2016 from ALRA South’s MA Professional Acting Course and has been especially invited to share her original comedy, The Crazy Cat Lady Next Door, at this event. The play explores Alison's life, the pride and pain of living on Paddington Close, and invites you to question how well you really know your neighbours.

Bianca is a fun actress and her sharp and lively performance will definitely make you laugh. Don’t miss this chance to see her original, highly commended piece.

Commenting on the event and her upcoming race, Sarah said:

"Firstly a massive thanks to everyone who has already supported me whether it be a fabulous donation on my just giving page or a supportive 'yes it might be raining but go for that run - you can do it'.

"Without everyone's belief in me I'm not sure I'd still be doing this! So thank you. As well as few miles to run I've a few pounds to raise and have organised, with the help from some lovely friends, a great night out - two brilliant talented women perform their shows and each ticket gets entered into a prize raffle - all for a tenner!

"Something to look forward to in the new year - Thursday 19th January 7.30pm! Put the date in the diary, book a ticket and tell your friends."

Book your tickets now to join us in supporting Sarah.

We're also running a raffle at the event where you could win some fabolous prizes. Tickets to enter the raffle are available on the night but you can also get them on Tuesday - Thursday from 10am - 5pm at our South office for £1 each. Those who purchase tickets for the show are automatically entered!
