Debbie Bird, Zachary Hart and Luke Matthews head to Edinburgh International Film Festival

ALRA's 2016 PG graduate Debbie Bird and current ALRA South 3rd Year students Zachary Hart and Luke Matthews are starring in Tick Box, a short film which has been selected for this year's Edinburgh International Film Festival.

Tick Box, written by Laurence Clark and produced by Justin Edgar (who regularly teaches at ALRA), peeps into a day in the life of a shopkeeper and her eccentric and diverse customers.

The Edinburgh International Film Festival is the world's longest continually-running film festival and has always served to champion emerging British talent throughout its history. The festival has also welcomed a number of prominent names over the years, such as Jennifer Lawrence, Clint Eastwood and Sir Sean Connery.

In addition to this, it has served as a host for UK premieres of Blade Runner, Alien, Back to the Future, Taxi Driver, The Usual Suspects, and many, many more.

ALRA is delighted to see Debbie, Zachary and Luke be part of this high-profile event which places the limelight on new talent and innovation.

Catch the world premiere of Tick Box at the festival on Saturday, 24th June.

In other news, we would also like to congratulate Zachary for being nominated as a finalist to compete in this year's Spotlight Showcase.

All finalists will be showing a live theatre performance and a pre-recorded monologue to camera to an audience of influential industry professionals on Tuesday, 11th July at The Underglobe.
