ALRA has dedicated Audio Studios equipped with digital recording and editing equipment.
The systems have two digital mixing desks with sixteen track recording capability based around an Apple Mac G5 with a combination of Soundtrack Pro and Final Cut Studio editing software.
The studios are equipped with stereo microphones and cue lights and a wide number of acoustics can be created by configuring the room in different ways.
Students work on previously broadcast radio scripts from plays, series and serials.
There is equipment for playing and burning CDs as well as professional recording capability for DAT and compact cassette tapes. Pre-recorded music and effects therefore can played into productions and used to create backgrounds and moods.
Editing is done on the G5 to produce a professional standard of production. A portable DAT recorder is used for any location sound recording required.
