ALRA is looking for a skilled and experienced Production & Theatre Technician.

This is a full-time post with a salary itro of £28k-£30k to start in January 2019. Working at our Wandsworth campus you will design & rig lighting for our public productions. 40 hours PW. Generous pension and holidays.

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Job Title: Production and Theatre Technician

Reports to: Head of Stage Management and Technical Theatre Course

Location: London

Direct Reports: Stage management tutor, Theatre and production manager, freelance tutors and directors and technicians

Department: Curriculum

1 hour remission for Lead/Head

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and Deliver lighting, sound and AV for ALRA productions
  • Production manage ALRA productions as delegated
  • Manage production budgets as required
  • Attend design and production meetings
  • Support all technical aspects of ALRA productions
  • Cover performances as required
  • Adhere to ALRA’s Equal Opportunities and Health and Safety policies, in respect of all staff, students and visiting members of the public 
  • Be responsible for the safe working practice and safe use of equipment, ensuring that all codes of practice and current regulations are adhered to
  • To provide technical support for ALRA open days
  • Adhere to ALRA’s published policies, in respect of all staff, students and visiting members of the public
  • Assist in mentoring production roles and teach out the second year SMTT students where appropriate
  • Assist in conducting individual tutorials & Careers guidance where appropriate
  • Attend all appropriate meetings including staff and development meetings.  
  • Assist in Co-ordinating and provide technical support for PRP projects and showcases
  • Assist in marking 2nd year SMTT students practical work as required
  • Assist in and mentor 2nd year SMTT students all light and sound rigs
  • Assist in and mentor 2nd year SMTT students all get-ins and get-outs
  • Attend ALRA meetings as outlined in ALRA’s meeting structure
