Last week’s episode saw a brief introduction to Jimmy’s character Baron Reiter. However, since the character appears mostly in flashbacks so far, you may have been left craving more. Well, not to worry, during the coming episode his character gets outlined much clearer.
Jimmy won’t be the Baron Blitzkrieg of the DC comics
Although we haven’t actually seen much of the character up to now we do know that the Baron will not follow the line of the comics where he is a Nazi, neither will he have anything related to the Nazi ideology – all that has been written out for the series. However, will he retain all the other features that has made him such an iconic DC villain?
Baron Blitzkrieg’s peculiarity, powers and abilities
In the DC comics the Baron has enhanced strength, great agility and endurance. He’s also known for his full body armour. His supernatural gifts include heat vision and the ability to fly. What we do know is that one reason the Arrow series is so successful is due to the fact that their superheroes are all grounded (Deadstroke lost all his powers after one season!) so I think we can rule out the flying.
We think the Baron will show some pretty amazing skills nonetheless if we simply go by Oliver’s statement in the première episode where he said he had already run into them and that they were indeed mystical powers. And where would Oliver have faced such supernatural forces if not on the island of Lian Yu, where our Jimmy leads a bunch of evil minions.
What to expect from the next Arrow episode: Restoration
The growing tension between Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Diggle (David Ramsey) puts both their lives at risk when they go after Damien Darhk (guest star Neal McDonough) and a H.I.V.E. deployed meta-human. Meanwhile, Laurel (Katie Cassidy) talks Thea (Willa Holland) into returning to Nanda Parbat to ask her father (John Barrowman) to put Sara (guest star CaityLotz) into the Lazarus Pit. However, Laurel is surprised when Nyssa (guest star Katrina Law) refuses to do it. Jimmy will appear during the flashbacks on the island of Lian Yu.
Baron Reiter will probably introduce the Legends of Tomorrow spin-off
Legends of Tomorrow is to be the next spin-off from the Arrow and The Flash series and will involve cast members from both. The series will be about Rip Hunter who travels back in time to bring together a team of heroes and villains in an attempt to prevent Vandal Savage from destroying the world and time itself. One of the main characters will be Sara Lance / White Canary who died at the beginning of Arrow season 3.
However, she is brought back from death and so creates the first premise for this brand new series. The Baron character was chosen due to his connection with Shadowspire and that, coupled with "mystical powers", will make an interesting concept for future stories.
Showing a pride in our alumni
So it looks very much like Jimmy will be making a huge impression on these prestigious series and we couldn't be more proud of him. We will be bringing you and exclusive interview with Jimmy as soon as we are able and hopefully he will be able to spill a few beans on what it is like to work on such a fantastic project!
However, this pride we have for Jimmy also extends to many other of our alumni and we are always delighted to report on their continued successes – watch out for details on our website.
