Emmanuel Imani nominated for Best Actor in BUFF Awards

Last week the British Urban Film Festival Awards announced the nominations for its annual awards which honour the very best on-screen and off-screen talent that were showcased at their annual British Urban Film Festival (BUFF). BUFF was formed to showcase urban independent cinema in the UK and is widely acknowledged as the 'home of urban film coverage in the UK' according to its creators.

Among the nominees for the award's Best Actor category is ALRA's former student and rising star Emmanuel Imani. He is one of our 2011/2012 graduates, having completed our Three Year Acting BA (Hons) programme. Imani has been nominated for his role as Abbey in Invisible Men (2015), a story about illegal immigrants trying to survive in modern day London, which has also been nominated in the Best Movie category. In his category Imani is up against Idris Elba, Mohammed George and Shone Romulus.

This year's BUFF awards will be hosted by Adam Deacon and Femi Oyeniran and will take place at 4pm on Sunday, 18th September at The Hilton Hotel, Tower Bridge. You can purchase tickets for the awards here.
