Combining practical actor training with theoretical study and research methodologies, this vocational course aims to equip you to operate effectively in a highly competitive artistic industry.
ALRA's Foundation Diploma in Acting gives students a real insight into conservatoire actor training and preparation for working in the industry. It is beneficial for those wishing to pursue professional training at a higher level.
The ALRA MA Professional Acting Course (15 months) is a full time actor training programme that has three taught terms followed by two performance terms; including two theatre productions (one in collaboration with a professional Theatre Company), recording a film and showcases in both London and Manchester.
The ALRA MA Directing course is an innovative new programme which includes an international residency and individual industry mentors. Set within cutting-edge locations at both ALRA North and ALRA South, the vision of this course is to create driven, diverse artists who will change the demographic of directors in this country.
ALRA collaborated with Kristin Linklater to create a unique Master of Fine Arts degree, subject to validation.
ALRA offers a selection of short courses and workshops throughout the year in a range of subjects such as voice, movement and Shakespeare. They are run by approved partners and ALRA tutors and range in length from hours to weeks.
Having been through a period of intense curriculum development re-considering the way in which we train our actors, ALRA has created a network to support the training industry by hosting and curating networking events focusing on actor movement and actor voice.
