ALRA is seeking a dynamic Marketing Assistant to assist with all public facing marketing activities. This is a 0.6 post with a salary itro £22K-£24K pro rata to start in December 2018.

Working at our Wandsworth campus you will take the lead on social media scheduling as well as taking on some website editing and SEO responsibilities.

Job Title: Marketing Assistant (Social Media and Digital) Reports to: Marketing and Development Manager

Key Responsibilities
  • To assist with all public facing marketing and digital marketing activities
  • To lead on social media scheduling
Social Media
  • Use the agreed brand guidelines and ALRA tone of voice
  • Create and align posts over the main social media channels
  • Follow trends, react to and share notable and relevant Alumni posts
  • Contribute to and develop blogs
  • Keep up to date with current digital trends
  • Contribute to social media engagement and brand awareness campaigns
  • Research new online media opportunities that may benefit the business including mobile, social media, development of blogs and forums
 SEO & Website
  • Assist in developing SEO strategies to increase the number of visitors to the ALRA website
  • In collaboration with an outside contractor to design and deliver campaigns online and by email
  • Edit and upload content for the website
  • Design website banners and assist with web visuals
  • Use web analytics software to monitor the performance of client websites and make recommendations for improvement
  • Conduct keyword research and web statistics reporting
Digital Communications
  • Responsible for Seasonal Newsletters to Alumni and Friends of ALRA using content from social media pots and website articles
  • Design and monitor eshots and invitations to the industry for various events
  • Create and upload copy and images for the website, Social Media platforms and eshot templates
  • Create and monitor annual digital marketing schedules 
General Marketing
  • Manage relevant contact databases and assist with outreach and widening participation activities
  • Create and dispatch email marketing campaigns – noting performance of campaigns and following up on them in terms of cleaning data lists and GDPR compliance
  • Provide accurate reports and analysis to demonstrate effective return on investment (ROI)
  • Communicate with students, Alumni, affiliate networks and partners
  • Proof printed and digital copy
  • Research information for news stories and press releases
  • Liaise with community and industry groups
  • Attendance at focus groups and events
  • Booking contractors such as photographers
  • Attend ALRA meetings as outlined in ALRA’s meeting structured
  • Occasional attendance at public and industry facing events as required across both campuses and represent the school at a functions and events across the UK where appropriate
  • Carry out other supporting duties as may reasonably be directed by the Marketing and Development Manager 
Desirable Skills and Experience
  • A contemporary knowledge of the performing arts
Essential skills
  • Skilled experience and practice of Social Media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn etc)
  • Editing of photos for use online and in print
  • Ability to write engaging content that is on-trend and on brand using the ALRA tone of voice guidelines
  • Excellent communication skills to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders 

This post is open to all graduates and non-graduates with experience. However, experience of the performing arts would be an advantage.

Professional qualifications and experience will be considered. If you do not have a related degree, you may be required to demonstrate a genuine interest in digital marketing, with evidence of a skilful personal online profile, e.g. a blog, website or connections and interactions on various social media platforms.
